Approximately 15 miles north of Cincinnati, there’s a motorcycle repair and detailing shop that has been serving the riding community of Mason, Ohio for a decade and counting. Whether you’re due for routine maintenance like an oil change and new spark plugs, or you’re in the market for a custom seat or a complete engine overhaul, Wag’s Cycle Repair has run the gamut and his local customers have nothing but rave reviews about the shop’s excellent knowledge and service.
This particular build, a 1982 Kawasaki KZ1000, has been beautifully customized into a one-of-a-kind motorcycle for a one-of-a-kind cause.
“This bike was built for the Tyler Richardson Foundation”, explains David Wagner, owner of Wag’s Cycle Repair.
Tyler had his life taken entirely too soon in a farming accident at a baby sitter’s house.
“[Tyler’s] mother and father have kept his name alive by raising money for children with medical issues…” says David. The mission statement from www.tylerscup.org further elaborates;
The mission of this foundation is to give people a helping hand. Monies raised through this foundation have assisted families that have lost everything in a fire, to children with major medical bills. We also have given out college scholarships and will continue to do so in the future.
It is truly an honor to supply parts for such a noble build and our deepest condolences go out to the Richardson family. Just like the Tyler’s Cup Foundation, the team at Wag’s conquered this Kawi with everything they had.
They elected to swap out the stock KZ1000 front end, in favor of a Ninja ZX-7.
The rear-end was also transplanted with a 2006 Z1000 mono-shock.
In addition to raising awareness for the Tyler Richardson Foundation, this bike had a special meaning. “This bike was a tribute to a gentleman we lost this year at 56 years old to a massive heart attack. We call it ‘Steak Sauce’, as that was his nickname.”, explains Wagner. It is a beefy bike with a lot of flavor!
This epic KZ1000 transformation ended up taking home the “People’s Choice” Award at the Moto Garage event at Rhinegeist Brewery in nearby Cincinnati!
Incredible work for an incredible cause. A big THANK YOU from the Z1 Enterprises crew to all that were involved in this beautifully crafted ’82 Kawasaki KZ1000!
