There is a reason manufacturers no longer produce motorcycles with mechanical ignitions. A Kawasaki KZ electronic ignition is more reliable, and it also requires far less maintenance than the old-style contact points. Your KZ1000 café racer build will run its best with a Dyna 2000 electronic ignition kit installed.
Protect your investment with a Dyna rev limiter, shift light, or shift minder for vintage Japanese motorcycles. And get a bigger kick when you twist the throttle with a Dyna ignition booster, or a KZ900 and KZ1000 ignition advancer. Of course, we still carry OEM-style Kawasaki ignition coils, points and condensers for true-to-stock KZ restorations. And Z1 also has coils, points, and ignition kits for vintage Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and other Kawasaki motorcycles as well. But, the wisest investment is always to eliminate mechanical points and upgrade to a Pamco electronic ignition kit for classic Japanese motorcycles.
