Sprockets and Chain
Your stock vintage Japanese motorcycle chain requires your faithful attention to work correctly when you need it. With proper lubrication (we have market leader PJ1’s Black Label chain lube) and tension, your chain will live a long and fruitful life. Eventually, though, your chain will stretch and your sprockets will wear out. When that day comes, look to Z1 for your vintage Japanese drive chain and sprocket solutions.
We stock 530 and 630 XW-ring and O-ring chains from RK, and Our Z1 sprockets are a great replacement for your aging OEM Kawasaki sprockets. We also carry front and rear vintage Japanese motorcycle sprockets from Sunstar and Sprocket Specialists. Remember — Altering the stock tooth count from your vintage bike’s OEM specification can have a dramatic effect on its performance (less teeth = more low-end torque; more teeth = more high-end power). However, changing the front-sprocket tooth count will cause speedometer error that you must then correct.
