The bottom end of a combustion engine consists of the pistons and connecting rods, crankshaft and crankshaft bearings, the main gearbox that houses the primary drive and transmission components, starter motor, and clutch components. It is also where the oil is stored, along with the oil pump, oil filter, and sump filter. All these vital components that make put the "motor" in motorcycle are protected by the appropriate gaskets and crankcases.
