Regulators and Rectifiers
A regulator and rectifier are often made in one single unit. Some older bikes do require separate regulators and rectifiers. Regulator/Rectifiers take on two roles in the electrical system. The regulator side of things does just that. It regulates, or controls the voltage in the system is distributed to a certain specification. This control prevents damage to the battery. The rectifier side of things transforms the alternator’s AC power to DC. This conversion happens to provide extra charge to the battery itself.
